Kenwood introduced the NX-5000 series, the company’s first dual-mode portable and mobile radios that will operate on either the NXDN or P25 network, at IWCE 2014. “If you want to specifically talk on either or, you flip a switch and it takes you to the P25 or the NEXEDGE, but it will scan across both modes,” said Jeannie Cameron, Kenwood USA’s marketing manager.
